Barcelona/Madrid

It was Saturday and, alas, our last full day in Spain.  I think we spent it wisely though.  We had tickets to see Palau de la Musica Catalana which turned out to be a gorgeous building inside, then we had to hop on a plane back to Madrid.  We returned to the hotel from our first stay in Madrid and lucked out with a huge, pleasant, and, thankfully, quiet room (our first room had faced the rather boisterous street outside) and set out to find a restaurant to celebrate our anniversary.  On the way, we stopped off at a fantastic housewares shop (Spain proves that housewares can both be functional and beautiful), and a popular shopping street with great shops.  We decided to go to a restaurant near our hotel so we headed back to relax before getting dinner.  Fortunately, our last restaurant in Spain turned out to be another good choice–all the dishes around us looked so good, we couldn’t help but get order envy.  All in all, Spain was a fantastic trip–great food, loads to see, and great spring weather!
