Vancouver- Day 1

On Friday, we took off for Vancouver–the ride was surprisingly short–only about two hours.  We drove straight to our first destination, Lynn Canyon.  The park was really nice–it had a suspension bridge, lots of rapids and some waterfalls, and large swaths of forests.  I definitely felt like I was in the Pacific Northwest walking through the park.  Walking along one stream, we saw one very happy dog trying to catch the rocks the younger members of his family were throwing into the stream.

After checking into our hotel, we headed out for dinner, walking past several neighborhoods within downtown Vancouver including some very nice shops and nice park.  We settled on a Japanese restaurant where I had a tasty spicy tuna appetizer and one of their special rolls and stopped off a gourmet supermarket (I love checking out supermarkets in other cities!) on our way back to our hotel.
